The Supernatural Express

Online Sales for the Supernatural Express have now closed

If you still need a ride home, please head to the Top Camp Bus Stop, as there are often spare seats available, and the team will endeavour to get you on the next available bus.

On the door tickets can only be purchased at the Top Camp Bus Stop (Q9).

The Supernatural Express – a Direct Bus Service – no stopovers or changeovers and no hassles – is a brilliant way to get to and from the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre with ease. Buses depart from Southern Cross, Thornbury, Geelong and Ballarat.

On the day, your name will be on a bus door list. Please show photo ID and your booking receipt to board The Supernatural Express. The service will leave on time, so make sure to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.

The Supernatural Express stops at Reception Bus Stop and Top Camp Bus Stop, but it no longer stops at Tom Mankeys.

Luggage is stored either underneath the bus or at your seat. As a hard and fast rule, the bus can transport the following luggage per person: a bag, a tent and a cooler. Please don’t bring large doof sticks or flags on the bus, nor wagons/carts and marquees. As there just isn’t room.

If you need to bring more gear than what’s allowed, your best bet is to have friends driving a vehicle to bring it for you. Otherwise, you may be interested in pre-hiring camping gear in advance of the festival, with pick up and return located on-site.

Please check in your luggage all the way through to your end destination by loading your bags in the designated bays before boarding. It is helpful to add labels with your full name and contact number to any items being transported on the bus, for easy identification when unloading, or if items go missing.

When departing on Monday, please keep in mind that the bus will first collect passengers from Reception Bus Stop, and then from Top Camp Bus Stop. Due to expected traffic on departure day, please allow an additional 30 minutes for your journey.

Getting home safely is part of Golden Plains. Thanks very much for taking The Supernatural Express. Please note: tickets are non-refundable.

Supernatural Express FAQs:

What can I bring?

As a hard and fast rule, the bus can transport the following luggage per person:

  • a bag
  • a tent, single hiking swag or bivvy
  • a cooler (with no ice in it)

If you need to bring more gear than what’s allowed, your best bet is to have friends driving a vehicle to bring it for you. Otherwise, you may be interested in pre-hiring camping gear in advance of the festival, with pick up and return located on-site.

What can’t I bring?

The same banned items list that applies for the festival itself also applies for buses. Which means no glass or gas bottles, and various other items.

We also ask that you please don’t bring:

  • large doof sticks or flags (there is no room for them)
  • double swags or swags that wouldn’t otherwise fit in the boot of a car
  • coolers pre-filled with ice
  • wagons/carts
  • marquees

At the discretion of our Helpers, you’re likely to be asked to dump ice out of your cooler. You can purchase ice when you arrive.

Likewise, you may be refused entry onboard or asked to wait for a later service with more capacity if your luggage is too big.

What happens if I miss my bus?

If you miss your bus, the team will endeavour to get you on the next available one, but you may have to wait a while and there are no guarantees. Being super early is a good way to not miss your bus.

If you get stuck, you can email Aunty via auntym@mmf.com.au to see what your options might be.

Where will I be dropped off at the festival?

The Supernatural Express stops at both the Reception Bus Stop (H7) and Top Camp Bus Stop (Q9).

I’ve already bought a ticket for the Supernatural Express. Which bus stop can I be picked up from?

Either Reception Bus Stop (H7) or Top Camp Bus Stop (Q9). The Supernatural Express stops at both of these locations.

Where do I go if I need to catch a bus home on the last day, but didn’t buy a ticket in advance?

Online sales for all Supernatural Express Services close at 9pm Sunday night. If you find yourself in need of a bus ride home on Monday, please head to the Top Camp Bus Stop and staff will do their best to get you on the next available bus. Card only payments on the day.

The V/Line Shuttle Bus into Meredith Town (which meets all V/Line services to Geelong and Ballarat on Sunday) leaves from Reception Bus Stop and requires neither payment nor registration.

I need to cloak my car. Can I catch a bus home?

You sure can. The Supernatural Express runs to the following locations on the last day:

  • Southern Cross
  • Thornbury
  • Geelong
  • Ballarat

And a shuttle bus runs into town to meet all V/Line bus services departing Meredith Town for Ballarat and Geelong.
